K4 to visit Sheffield Fire and Police Museum, 1-2 June

The Fire and Police Museum (firepolicemuseum.org.uk) are having a 1940s event this coming weekend, and have asked for a wartime appliance to be in attendance, to augment their K2 and TP.

So I am taking the K4 Turntable Ladder up to Sheffield on the morning of Saturday 1st June, aiming to arrive mid-morning (they open at 11am), and do an afternoon ladder drill with them.

The appliance will be in Sheffield for the next 10 days or so, before coming back down south to Derby for the Derby Fire Show (derbyfireshow.co.uk) on 15th-16th June where it will be the star of the 1940s display.

About lowdhamstation

I am a director of a small (and very technical) business, a committed Christian, a Reader (and preacher) in my local village church, husband to my dear Frances, am interested in heritage railways, and heritage fire engines. I currently run a group that displays wartime and early post-war fire engines at 1940s re-enacting events and steam engine rallies. O yes, and vintage cars and motorbikes, and we live in a Victorian railway station.
