Events in August and September

Some great NFS displays coming up soon, on five consecutive weekends!. In two weeks (11/12 Aug) we are doing a major display at Crich. David Needham and John Sutcliffe are organising this, but I believe the Red Lion gets hit by enemy bombs!

A week later Sun 19th, is another major display at RAF Cranwell, probably involving all three appliances tackling fires in hangars started by enemy action, with photo opportunities with a Spitfire.

Then over the Bank Holiday weekend we are at Rauceby War Weekend 25th-27th, which although a green field site, offers opportunities for arena displays, and pumping displays.

Only four days later on 1st/2nd Sept is the Eventplan 1940s weekend at Rufford Abbey, where we will be doing arena displays and a ladder drill by the old abbey building.

And then on 8th/9th September is the Victory Show near Leicester. They have a small lake we can pump from, with the possibility of an arena display.

Then a weekend off before Welland …

Crew needed for all five weekends – please contact me on david@lowdhamstation.me.uk, thanks.

About lowdhamstation

I am a director of a small (and very technical) business, a committed Christian, a Reader (and preacher) in my local village church, husband to my dear Frances, am interested in heritage railways, and heritage fire engines. I currently run a group that displays wartime and early post-war fire engines at 1940s re-enacting events and steam engine rallies. O yes, and vintage cars and motorbikes, and we live in a Victorian railway station.
