Cheque presentation to the Notts Firefighters Memorial Appeal

Today the East Midlands branch of the Fire Services Preservation Group (www.fspgeastmids.co.uk) presented a cheque for £232 to the Notts Firefighters Memorial Appeal (www.nottsfirefightermemorial.org).

This was mainly raised by tombolas run by the ladies in the group at events where the group was present.

The NFS Vehicles Group was pleased to support both the above groups by bringing the Fordson Escape Carrier to Ashfield Fire Station where the presentation was made.

A display of firefighting uniforms was created by members of the groups, standing in front of the Fordson, the appliances of Dave Madden and Tony Markham, and the two resident appliances of Ashfield Station.

About lowdhamstation

I am a director of a small (and very technical) business, a committed Christian, a Reader (and preacher) in my local village church, husband to my dear Frances, am interested in heritage railways, and heritage fire engines. I currently run a group that displays wartime and early post-war fire engines at 1940s re-enacting events and steam engine rallies. O yes, and vintage cars and motorbikes, and we live in a Victorian railway station.
