About lowdhamstation

I am a director of a small (and very technical) business, a committed Christian, a Reader (and preacher) in my local village church, husband to my dear Frances, am interested in heritage railways, and heritage fire engines. I currently run a group that displays wartime and early post-war fire engines at 1940s re-enacting events and steam engine rallies. O yes, and vintage cars and motorbikes, and we live in a Victorian railway station.

Is there going to be room for me WVS and Glyn ARP on the K2, David? Plus tea urn and sandwiches of course!!!!! We will be arriving at 9 to the Central Fire Station – we are going to park at Trinity car park so it will be close.

    Jay,
Yes, there will be room for the WVS and ARP squad on the K2.

Have been doing some checking, and find that although the Trinity Square car park is very close to the Fire Station (which is at NG1 4FB), it costs £15 for the day. So does the Victoria Centre Car Park.

However, it may be best for you to unload your passengers and accessories outside the front to the Fire Station, and go to the Forrest Park and Ride, which is about half a mile North from there. Parking there is free, and a tram ride back (offpeak single) will cost £1.60. At the end of the day, we can give you all a lift back to your car in the K2.

See http://www.thetram.net Trams run every 5 minutes, and take 3 minutes to do the two stops to Nottm Trent Uni, which is at the other end of Shakespeare St from the Fire Station – about 300 yards.

In fact, as long as someone in your group hears the briefing at 9:15am, it doesnt matter if you dont get there till 9:30 or so, so there will be plenty of time to go and park.
